What does being a fiduciary mean?

Heritage Oak Wealth Advisors is a registered investment advisory firm. This means we have a fiduciary duty to act in the absolute best interest of our clients. We must follow the trust standard, the highest in law, which requires us to place the interests of our clients ahead of our own interests. Heritage Oak does not work for a broker-dealer; we only work for our client.

Where will my assets be held?

Heritage Oak uses a third-party custodian for your assets. We do not keep your assets in-house. This gives us limited power over your assets; we have the power to buy and sell securities on your behalf, move funds between your accounts, and have funds sent directly to you. By using a third-party custodian, you can crosscheck the records we provide you with the records from the custodian. This ensures you that your money is in all the right places at all times.

What is a fee only investment advisor?

Fee only investment advisors are not compensated by commissions from selling investment products. Instead, they are compensated by fees. The fees can be hourly, a flat fee, or a fee based on the amount of assets under management (AUM).

What is your consultation fee?

The first consultation at Heritage Oak is always free. We love the opportunity to connect with new clients and help them find solutions to meet their needs.

Will Heritage Oak be able to work with my attorney, CPA, and other valued professionals?

Yes. These individuals are an integral part of your team. We encourage their involvement and execute strategies we design with their input to best meet your needs.

Will you be able to view and analyze assets I own outside of Heritage Oak Wealth Advisors?

Yes. We incorporate the use of cutting-edge technology that can provide our clients with comprehensive financial reporting. With your consent, we can view accounts held outside of our firm such as bank accounts, company retirement plans, and accounts at other investment firms.

Can Heritage Oak incorporate my current banking functionalities within my accounts?

Yes. We can assist with setting up banking functions that would link to your Heritage Oak accounts. This could include checking, debit and/or cards, auto transfers, direct deposit, and much more.

We encourage you to choose the banking arrangement that works best for you, and we are able to work with the bank of your choice to ensure your banking functions work seamlessly.

Can Heritage Oak provide an account that uses margin or a portfolio secured credit line?

Yes. We work with the custodian of your account to provide the lending services that you need. We can also assist with transferring an existing margin or portfolio secured credit line from your current brokerage firm.
